Ignis (2024)

The rhythmic pattern in Ignis is inspired by the intricate structure found in a mushroom’s lamellae, or gills. This design was then carved, and stamped onto bristol paper in yellow, orange, and red to achieve the depth and movement reminiscent of flames, inspiring the title Ignis.

Aqua was created in a similar manner to Ignis. This geometric piece was accomplished by stamping a triangular stamp in concentric circles to create a sense of rhythm and radial symmetry, akin to ripples upon still water.

This portrayal of a pack of Marlboro Red 100’s stands at 36 inches tall, 16 inches wide, and 6.5 inches deep. It is crafted from 16 gauge steel wire. The cigarettes within are formed from wire mesh netting and wrapped in paper, completed by painting the signature gold rings on the filter.
